The other night I had a strange breakthrough. To be honest, it felt like I was waking up. Nothing important was going on, in reality I think I was just on tumblr. My mind is never on what I am doing, so of course it was bouncing from thought to thought, not really having a meaning or purpose, and I thought of moment that took place seven years ago. 
I was sitting on a curb outside of some restaurant with my big brother and we were talking about the past, because I was fourteen and thinking I had committed something that was the end of the world (of course looking back now, it was a good experience), and he brought up the object of time. He told me that we can't see time. He even asked me where it was. He showed me that moments in the past don't exist. After all, can you really track them down? Can you visit them, physically? No, you can't. So, why do they have to exist at all? Why do you have to worry about something that happened, and yet there is no record of it?
For some reason, my mind igniting that memory, and those words from my brother, brought me back to life. I honestly feel like I was awaken from a slumber. I think I allowed myself to be asleep for the past two years. I let something define me, that has no right to define me. 
Thank you, Troy. I love you.
I feel awake, and I feel alive. I feel good, for the first time in a long time.

I'm not sure if you're a 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' fan, but I am. I'm actually a hardcore fan. Yeah, one of those kids who claim it changed their life, because, well, it kind of did. Since I found out there was going to be a movie, I've kind of watched that trailer too many times to count, or admit. It was just a perk (pun INTENDED) that the song from that trailer was incredible, and it tickled that inspiration bone. So just listen, and enjoy!

with fall quickly approaching, i find myself jumping back to the music that meshes perfectly with my mind as the breeze gets increasingly cooler. bon iver is my go to man when the weather gets colder and the leaves are finally changing to warmer colors (overlook the fact that this is the first time i've actually seen the signs of fall in a state...). bon iver also reminds me of seattle, and looking out of a rainy plane window as it's descending down to the emerald city. the pacific north west holds my heart, but that's unrelated.

Fair warning, if I'm lacking from the interweb this week - it's because I'm dead, or dying. Not exactly lying in a ditch somewhere, just my body will be slowly shutting down from exhaustion. But on the bright side, this will be my last week working two jobs that equal a little more than seventy hours a week. Then my resurrection will happen a little after this week...

Here's a little something that's helping to keep blood pumping to my heart, and my head from getting light headed. It's slow, which is strange, but it's awesome, which is good.

It's one of those days where life has hit you in the ass numerous times and you cannot find it in yourself to do the blogging things you said you do, or to create those items you promised the deepest corner of your heart that you would get done TODAY...but it's three thirty in the afternoon and all you've managed to do is procrastinate. Sure, you got some really amazing reading in today, but the things you said you do are still looming over your head.

Welcome to most of my days off. Between the stress of life and the soul draining power of a day job, this is what most of my days off felt like. I was so dead from the week that I had no inspiration to do anything but sit on my ass and burry my nose in a book. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good day filled with a story, but I would go to bed feeling like I had accomplished nothing. So, I decided that I needed to get my ass in gear and start doing SHIT.

(Please don't take any of this to heart. I am no advice guru. I just am slowly figuring out what works for me personally!)

I have this girl (or boy if you wish to call it that!) that is my go to, never let me down kind of a girl - and that's music. Sure, it changes on a day by day basis. One day I'll be rapping along to Macklemore, another day I could be listening to Against Me!, and I can always count on my slow, acoustic tunes to sooth my soul and bring some inspiration.

So, if you're lacking some inspiration because it's the middle of the week and you just got off your day job - try listening to this job and hopefully it will sooth your soul a little bit.
